The purpose of the research study is to assess whether the new biological treatments available to treat lupus have any side effects when used long-term in ‘real life’ not revealed during shorter- term clinical trials. These side effects, if any, will be compared to those seen with standard treatments for lupus such as azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil or cyclophosphamide. The study therefore involves following up participants taking a number of different drugs for lupus and assessing if and how often long-term side effects occur.
